Bird Spring Range 4

  • birdsprings4-008  Site 1: This site is on a small hill in the middle of the valley.  The spot is perfect for spotting anyone for miles in any direction.  There were three circular depressions in the ground that were probably sleeping areas.

  • birdsprings4a-031  Site 2:  Site 2 is a shelter located in a dry wash near, and possibly associated with, the sleeping circles at site 1.  This site also has several associated rock rings on the bench above the shelters.

  • birdsprings4a-035  Periodically we come across rock rings that have several stones in the center of the circle.  One of the uses for these stones was to help anchor the base end of a vertical pole, the pole was part of the support for the original structure.  The stones were usually in groups of three stones or two stones laid adjacent to each other as in this circle.
