Colorado River / Lake Mead 23

  • coloradoriver23-010  Depression 1: We found 2 depressions and both appeared to have been dug out, but I don’t think that it was done recently.  I have seen depressions similar to these along the Virgin River that were done during the puebloan times.

  • coloradoriver23-001  According to my book these are Raccoon prints.  I didn’t know that we had raccoons along this section of the Colorado River.

  • coloradoriver23-040  This group of prints shows a predator tracking his prey which is probably the raccoon.

  • coloradoriver23-048  This pile of rocks doesn’t look like much, but until recently it had been under water for the last 60+ years.  That beckons the question, is it very old or is it from the 1930’s?
