Information on Crescent Mill, is not as readily available on the web as it is for many other old milling sites. What I was able to ascertain was that the mill was built in the late 1860's to mill ores from Logan City, which is located just a few miles away. The silver ore was mined in Logan and then processed in Crescent. The heyday of the Mt. Irish silver mining was in the 1860's and had pretty much ended by the end of that decade.
In photo #11 has a date etched into it, vs. stamped into, it of 1860. I was told that dates or other marks are usually stamped into the bricks . One thing that I found odd about this site had to do with the interior of the chimney. The chimney flue - photo #9 appears to be clean and free of any visible types of soot or whatever comes from the burning or heating of the ore.
