Dry Lake 3 - Shelters and Rock Rings

  • drylake3-004  Shelter 1:  Shelter 1 is a fire-blackened shelter with a small roasting pit in front of it.  It was excavated in 1976 and was found to contain Puebloan, Paiute, and Patayan materials that were radiocarbon dated to A.D. 1440.  Shelter 2 was excavated at the same time and was dated to A.D. 1070; it also has a small roasting pit near the entrance.
