Many of us use Google Earth as a tool, and this usually means trying to locate things such as old roads or trails, mining areas, old foundations, and sometimes even large roasting pits will be visible if you know what to look for. When researching this trip on Google, the only thing of interest that was found were a few old roads and several very large boulders that looked promising.
While hiking towards the boulders that we located on the satellite images, we stumbled across a small roasting pit located on a bench in a dry wash. Next to the pit was a possible milling area with multiple metates / grinding slicks. A short distance from the roasting pit were the large boulders that we located on Goggle. One of those boulders turned out to be a habitat site complete with several metates or grinding slicks.
