Searchlight Nevada: The mining industry around Searchlight Nevada produced over $7,000,000 in gold, silver, and other precious minerals during its heyday between 1907 and 1910. Even though there are still some active mines, most people visit the area to hike and explore.
The Rockefeller site - aka The David site: Sometimes you get lucky and just stumble onto a rock art site, but in this case the luck came from a viewer of our website. This small, but interesting rock art site has existed right alongside other older historic sites and a well-traveled back country road with little to no damage. There are a couple small boulders near the rock art with initials and dates from the 1920’s and 1930’s and a few rusty old cans, but there is no damage to the rock art itself. Personally I think the “initials and dates”, and the old cans from a bygone era add a little history to the site.
